The Young Crab and his Mother

Como bastantes de vosotros sabéis, seguimos de vacaciones y con un horrible acceso a internet, de modo que vamos publicando lo que podemos. Hoy, otra fábula de Esopo - seguimos satisfechos con el nivel medio que tienen y la aceptación que van despertando. ¡Disfrútala!
“Why in the world do you walk sideways like that?” said a Mother Crab to her son. “You should always walk straight forward with your toes turned out.”
“Show me how to walk, mother dear,” answered the little Crab obediently, “I want to learn.”
So the old Crab tried and tried to walk straight forward. But she could walk sideways only, like her son. And when she wanted to turn her toes out she tripped and fell on her nose.
Do not tell others how to act unless you can set a good example.

Primero de todo agradeceros vuestro trabajo.
Tengo una duda, que me ha dejado sin comprender del todo la moraleja de la fábula. ¿Cual es el significado exacto de: she tripped and fell on her nose?

“To trip” es “tropezar”, de modo que
“She tripped and fell on her nose” significa
“Ella tropezó y se cayó de bruces”
(”on her nose” es una expresión - algo así como “de bruces” o “de morros” en español).
